Dr. Ashley Smith, D.M.D.

Doctor Smith is from the town of Nahunta in southeast Georgia. He attended the University of Georgia where he earned a Bachelors of Science in Genetics, graduating Magna Cum Laude with High Honors. Next, he graduated from the Medical College of Georgia (now known as Georgia Regents University) earning his Doctorate of Dental Medicine. Following dental school, Dr. Smith was accepted to specialize in orthodontics, eventually completing his orthodontic residency at Georgia Regents University in Augusta, Georgia.

While at the University of Georgia, Dr. Smith ran competitively with the track team, and still enjoys long distance running. He also enjoys wakeboarding, water skiing, shooting sporting clays, tennis, racquetball, and reading. While in Augusta, Dr. Smith donated his time to the Habitat for Humanity, the Boys and Girls Club, and Give A Smile Foundation. He was heavily involved with Medical Campus Outreach throughout dental school and went on a medical mission trip to Trinidad in 2011.

Upon becoming an orthodontic specialist, Dr. Smith went through the rigorous process of becoming Board Certified by The American Board of Orthodontics. Only a small percentage of orthodontic specialists ever become Board Certified by completing all phases required for that certification. To have completed this process ensures that that individual has shown the ability to present the most outstanding cases that meet the highest standards of the orthodontic profession.

Doctor Smith also maintains membership in the Georgia Dental Association, American Dental Association, Georgia Association of Orthodontics, Southern Association of Orthodontics, American Association of Orthodontists, and is a diplomat of the American Board of Orthodontists.
